Heather McKenzie

Heather McKenzie DHHP, HD(RHom.), DMH

Heather was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and grew up in a family that espoused alternative medicine. She always knew that there was more to treating people than just suppressing the symptoms.

In 1994 her curiosity led her to the Ottawa School of Homeopathy where her studies began. Subsequently, a friend told her about a homeopath in Ottawa, who practiced a much deeper form of treatment based on Dr. Hahnemann's writings and this started her on her journey into healing and cure.

Prior to being treated, Heather had had a vision of becoming a homeopath at some later time. And in being treated, she touched upon a deep passion to make this a reality.

She studied with Rudi Verspoor and Patty Smith, graduating from a full four year Practitioners Program and Clinical Internship in June 2000, earning the DIHom(Pract.) and DHHP diplomas. She is in the process of completing her post-graduate studies.

Heather is a Doctor of Homeopathic Medicine (HD [RHom.]) with the National United Professional Association of Trained Homeopaths (NUPATH), and a Doctor of Medical Heilkunst (DMH) with the Canadian and International Heilkunst Associations.

Her particular area of interst is in women's health issues, particularly the discomforts of menopause and PMS. She lives in Ottawa with her husband Andrew, her dog Kali and her cat Isis.
